Some Things I Can’t Explain Installation detail.

Rahshia Sawyer was selected as a finalist in the 8th Edition Julia Margaret Cameron Award in the Fine Art category. Her image, Some Things I Can’t Explain 428, will be exhibited at the 4th Biennial of Fine Art and Documentary Photography in Berlin in fall 2016.

For the 8th consecutive edition of the Julia Margaret Cameron Award for women photographers, The Gala Awards invited professional and amateur women photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought. Traditional, contemporary, avant-garde, creative and experimental works that include old and new processes, mixed techniques, and challenging personal, emotional or political statements will be welcome.

Juried by Laura Noble the Director of L A Noble Gallery in London, a curator and author of The Art Of Collecting Photography, with primary essays in monographs including: Somewhere I have never travelled, gladly beyond (Jennie Gunhammar), Undisclosed (Bertil Nilsson), Circus and Crysalis (Anderson & Low), Crazy God and Hidden Identities: Unfinished (Yvonne De Rosa), Estate (Robert Clayton) and the forthcoming Selfie of a Nobody (Androulla Michael).
